THE ISSUES FACING ENGINEERS IN PAKISTAN
Unemployment and Low Salaries

With a Growing Population, there are limited Unemployment and Low Salaries
opportunities for our engineers, with around 100,000 unemployed young engineers in the market

Not Competitive on the Global Market

Skills and Certifications are not up to date, which makes our engineers less competitive on the global stage

International Acceptability and Image Concerns

The struggle to align with global standards impacts the international acceptability and professional image of Pakistani engineers, restricting their career prospects outside Pakistan.

Underappreciated and Undervalued

Despite their vital role in national development, engineers in Pakistan frequently find themselves underappreciated and undervalued, which affects their motivation and growth.

Outdated Curriculum

There is a need for improved education quality and curricula to produce engineers who are well-equipped for modern, multidisciplinary projects.

Lack of Implementation of Acts & ByLaws

The weak enforcement of existing Acts and By-laws has driven PEC away from its core mandate and purpose.
